Avalon designed this innovative in-fill project for the historic main street of White Salmon, Wa. The Owner requested a mixed-use program, of retail, office and residential. The 5,000-sf site sits vacant after a fire destroyed the former Cameo Movie Theater many years ago. The proposed project will close an unsightly gap along the old main street, Jewett Boulevard. The design is sensitive to the historic context of neighboring buildings, while maximizing the Owner’s lease space. The “back alley” is approx. 14′-0″ below the street. The design has a structured parking garage accessed from the alley to the South. The building contains retail space along Jewett, with two additional floors of office above the retail. The residential units are located along the South side of the building with magnificent views of Mt. Hood and the Columbia River Gorge. The project contains 4,000-SF of Retail/Office and (6)- 1,350-SF Condominiums.
